Mexico is known for its mixed cultural heritage and varying landscapes. Just outside of Mexico City is the ruins of Teotihuacan which means Place of the Gods. Visitors can explore the pyramids along the Avenue of the Dead which include the pyramids of the Sun and Moon. To the southeast, tourists can experience the splendor of the Riviera Maya and Cancun. The Aztec, Maya and Olmec people were fascinating. They were advanced technologically for their time periods and laid the foundation for many of the current advances and ways of life we have today.
